Dachstein crossing

One of the classic major crossings in the Alps is the Dachstein crossing. This is one of the most spectacular routes to explore the UNESCO World Heritage site Dachstein-Salzkammergut from around the end of January/mid-February, depending on the snow conditions. The ascent is made with the Dachstein Glacier Cable Car from the Schladming side, and one follows the markings or the trail. Upon arriving at the Gjaid-Alm, a well-deserved refreshment awaits on the legendary sun terrace before continuing on the Krippenstein descent to Obertraun. From there, the Planai buses and the Ramsau Transport Services offer a shuttle service back to the starting point.
